CM Siddaramaiah said that strict action will be taken against those who unnecessarily spread false news against the government or against any person on social media.
In this regard, the Chief Minister of the state tweeted a series of tweets from his official account, "Police have registered a suo moto case regarding mobile filming in a college in Udupi. An FIR has been registered. The investigation is being done by a DYSP level officer. No question of handing over the case to SIT. Further action will be taken after the investigation report is received.
Action will be taken ruthlessly against whoever commits moral policing in the state. I have instructed the police that no one can take the law into their hands.
